I'm not sure when or where this year's Learn to windsurf day will be. I suggest contacting the Austin Windsurfing club. I don't see any beginner events on their calendar.
If you want to learn to windsurf and don't mind a drive to the coast, I highly recommend Worldwinds. Great location, great people, and great instruction.
