October: When Should We Windsurf?

Folks are starting to ask about Windsurfing in October. Yes, it's true -- you can surf Corpus in October. Help me pick a weekend. It's easy: leave a comment below indicating which weekends you can not attend.

The usual caveats apply. I will try my best to make the most people happy. As before, please don't tell me dates in person. I won't remember, really. Comment below and I'll refer to it as I'm scheduling the next trip. I hope everyone can come. Thanks!

Weekend of the 20th is a no-no for me.

What's the weather supposed to be like that time of year? Wet-suits needed yet?

Gentlemen, consider November as well. And consider an ABK clinic if you want to improve your windsurfing a lot in a short period of time. They always do a couple of clinics down your way in the fall.

here's a link to their schedule.

I myself am in an ABK clinic starting tomorrow up in Long Island.

Enjoy October!

Right on Peconic, I'll definitely look into the possibilities for November.

Matt, last year in October I rented a wet suit at least one of the days. It was the wind chill more than anything that got you. Maybe I should do some wetsuit research and see if it makes more sense to buy.

For October, I'm currently leaning towards the 26th. I'd like to go to the Maker Faire on the 20th.

Interestingly enough, I may not be able to go with you guys to Corpus the weekend of the 20th, due to a trip to... *dun dun DUN* Padre Island. ha ha A friend of mine was possibly going to have that weekend at his parents timeshare condo, but that's kind of up in the air, so we were debating planning a trip to Corpus that weekend with the option of staying on Padre instead.

But weighing against that... Maker Faire looks cool, and Amy and I are supposed to play on the 20th. And that's the weekend after my birthday, which would be more fun in Austin with everybody around. So I'm not really sure yet. I don't think I'd have a problem going two weekends in a row, though :)

Alright, problem solved. I'm definitely staying in Austin the 20th (we have a gig at La Tazza Fresca, come out and see us!), and I'm 100% in for the 26th weekend.
